Naturally, the trainers Zizzy is fighting here are the Cooltrainers from Norman's gym in the game. One of them almost knocked out Rudy with Slash + Pursuit, but luckily I used Dig rather than switching after the first hit.
It's hard to believe Zangoose is a real Pokémon, with its violent appearance and outlandish colour scheme. It looks like it's escaped from a Goosebumps novel about a clown that turns into a killer mongoose. I'd like to think it's named after Zanni, the original clown from commedia dell'arte, but apparently it's really from the Japanese word zan, meaning "slash."
