I wanted to make the scenery a little more eerie after the death of the Marshtomp on the previous page. So I drew some low-hanging fog, dead trees, burned stumps. I imagine this area of the Jagged Pass was burned over by a forest fire a couple years ago. Not surprising, considering it's an active volcano and home to fire Pokémon.
Still, not everything here is dead. There are tiny pine trees poking up from the ashes. And when Zizzy and Bamboo come up out of the fog, they see Hoenn peacefully swathed in a sea of cloud.
